Once you've created custom roles, assign them to users and teams from the corresponding administration pages. Users and teams can hold multiple roles, and their effective permissions are the combined set of all assigned roles.

## Assign a role to a user or team

To assign a role:

1. Go to Administration > Users or Administration > Teams
2. Open a user or team for editing
3. In the access section, select one or more roles from the dropdown
4. Save changes

Users and teams can have multiple roles, and their effective permissions are the union of all assigned roles.
