Microsoft Copilot Studio
Connect Microsoft Copilot Studio to the Kapptivate MCP server via Streamable HTTP so agents can run tests, read monitors, and investigate incidents.
Microsoft Copilot Studio can call the Kapptivate MCP server as a tool, so makers in your Microsoft 365 tenant build agents that run tests, read monitors, and investigate incidents. Copilot Studio uses the Streamable HTTP transport, which the Kapptivate server speaks natively.
Add the server
In your agent, go to Tools, then Add a tool, New tool, and Model Context Protocol.
Set a Server name (for example, Kapptivate), a short Server description (the orchestrator uses it to decide when to call the server), and the Server URL:
https://mcp.kapptivate.com/mcp
That address serves app.kapptivate.com. Sign in elsewhere and your endpoint carries the name of your environment.
Choose API key, set the type to Header, and enter the header name:
X-Kapptivate-API-Key
Select Create, then Create a new connection, paste your Kapptivate API key as the value, and Add to agent.
The API key carries the same access as the Kapptivate account it belongs to. Treat it like a password and prefer a dedicated service account for shared agents.
If the custom header is not forwarded
The wizard's API-key-in-header option is the supported path. Some older Copilot Studio configurations do not forward X- prefixed headers added manually through a custom connector. If you hit that, create a Custom connector in Power Apps from an OpenAPI file that declares the X-Kapptivate-API-Key header and the streamable MCP operation (x-ms-agentic-protocol: mcp-streamable-1.0), then add that connector as the tool.
Governance
Access goes through Power Platform connectors, so any data loss prevention (DLP) policy that governs connectors also governs this MCP server and its tools for your agents. Scope a dedicated API key per environment so you can rotate or revoke it independently.
